Essence Magazine announced the winners for its first annual Literary Awards this week. Among some of the winners are Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy, Reposition Yourself by T.D. Jakes, and The Pirates Daughter by Margaret Cezair-Thompson. Terry McMillan was honored with a lifetime achievement award and L. A. Banks (one of my personal favorites) took the award of storyteller of the year.
